Faily Consumer Science (07-08)
CLOTHING 1: Introductory program to sewing, covering textiles, basic sewing skills and terminology. Students choose garments or items to make that include zippers, gathering, topstitching, hemming, etc. Projects can be unlined jackets, skirts, duffle bags, outdoor kits and others. Students must pay for their own projects. $5.00 lab fee will be required.
BEST OF FOODS: Students gain knowledge and skills in the area of: safety, measuring, nutrition, meal planning, and table setting. Cooking labs use this knowledge and skill in preparation of quick breads, yeast breads, fruits and vegetables, milk and egg cookery, microwaves and others. This course is designed to teach the student basic skills in cooking. $10.00 lab fee will be required.
