SPANISH V/VI: Prerequisite - placement exam. This course is designed to deepen the Spanish speaking student’s knowledge of the Spanish language as well as introduce native speakers to Hispanic literature at various levels. The class also serves as a review of spoken and written Spanish grammar, complimented by a selection of short stories by well-known Spanish and Latin American authors. This program has been created to help overcome the different language-learning problems of students who grew up speaking Spanish at home, but who have had little or no formal study of the Spanish language. Special emphasis is given to writing, reading and to certain grammatical and spelling topics that tend to present difficulties for native speakers. The challenge test for Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 will be offered to students who successfully complete this course.
