CONCERT BAND: Concert Band will be the core band at the high school. Concert Band will perform and study a variety of styles of music, including concert band literature, marches, jazz, rock, pop, orchestral transcriptions and other styles. The concert band will perform at least three (3) home concerts a year as well as performing at contests, festivals, and varsity league football games. Concert Band is open to anyone with prior band experience.
JAZZ ENSEMBLE: Jazz Ensemble will be a performance-oriented group and will perform a variety of musical styles with an emphasis on jazz and jazz improvisation. The jazz ensemble will perform at least three (3) home concerts per year as well as perform at contests, festivals, varsity league basketball games and other performances throughout the year. Jazz Ensemble is open to any interested student with director approval. An audition may be necessary.
CONCERT CHOIR: Concert Choir is a beginning choir with no previous experience necessary. The group is a performing organization, and each member must be able to show improvement in carrying his or her independent line in any given song. A wide variety of music will be rehearsed and performed by the group throughout the year. Each member will be expected to attend a minimum number of evening rehearsals prior to public performances. Attendance at concerts is required.
CRIMSON AND BLACK ENSEMBLE: The Crimson and Black singers provides an opportunity for the vocal student who is interested in singing in a small performing group. The Crimson and Black provides the school with a small group of entertainers who can provide music for various clubs and organizations. This is a competitive group that travels; students must be capable of finishing school work ahead of the due date. Enrollment by audition/consent of instructor. Each student must meet OSAA requirement for maintaining eligibility. Each member will be expected to attend a minimum number of evening rehearsals prior to public performances. Attendance at concerts is required.
