Foods I
1 semester
Elective/Applied Art
Credits: 1/2
Students gain knowledge and skills in the area of: safety, measuring, nutrition, meal planning, and table setting. Cooking labs use this knowledge and skill in preparation of quick beads, yeast breads, fruits and vegetables, milk and egg cookery, microwaves and others. This course is designed to teach the students basic skills in cooking. $10.00 lab fee will be required.
Foods II
1 semester
Credits:1/2
Elective/Applied Art
As a continuation class of Foods1, students will plan and prepare complete meals using the knowledge gained in Foods1. $10.00 lab fee will be required.
Prerequisite: Foods1 and instructor's consent.
Clothing
1 Semester
Credits: 1/2
Introductory program for sewing, covering textiles, basic sewing skills in terminology. Students choose garments or items to make that include zippers, gathering, topstitching, hemming, etc. Projects can be unlined jackets, skirts, duffle bags, outdoor kits and others. Students must pay for their own projects. $5.00 lab fee will be required.
